Post-cat O2 sensors will not hurt performance - it's for measuring efficiency of cats. So sims will not help you if your pre-cats sensors is bad. They are only useful to avoid SES light (it can be done with programming too). Performance can be severely affected by bad pre-cat O2 sensors, most common thing - running a way too rich and rough. What year is your car?

the car is a 2000 , I think it is a pre cat one that is bad all the other ones have a white tip and the one is all black so Im guessing its bad cuz the car is throwing the cat code obviously with no cats

Be sure to replace pre-cats O2's both together and with Delco's. Bosch worked fine for me, but for a very short time

The "cat code" isn't going to cause a pre-cat sensor to be "all black". Excess carbon buildup would point to an excessively rich mixture. You most likely have something causing it to run excessively rich. A detailed scan log, focusing on the long term fuel corrections, by Cell, might point you in the correct direction.
