Just got this car last week, here is how it did today on a dyno. 100% stock 2001 Camaro SS 6 speed with 16,700 miles.

1st pull - 285 hp 305 tq
2nd pull - 277 hp 308 tq
3rd pull - 275 hp 302 tq

My last SS made 320/338 with just a lid and muffler, it was also a 2001 6-speed. The only difference between the cars is that this new one I have has the RPO code for a California emissions car, where as the old one did not.

The car also dipped into the high 11's for A/F.

Anyone have any insight on why I have low HP numbers?

 

Since the car seemed to go lower and lower, I would let the car cool of for a while inbetween the runs. I dynoed over 10hp higher after letting the car cool down for 20 min.

 

Are you setting an SES light? You might be throwin a code like 02 sensor which may be robbin u of a few ponies.

 

There is your answer. Plus those cars react very well to mods. A lid and muffler should be worth 10-15 real horsepower.

 

If your afr is high 11s that could be the problem. Your running rich need to be around high 13s.
