No start. Fusible link?

Ok, my car has been acting up for a few weeks and finally went too far last night. So I took the battery and alternator both to get tested, and one of them died which in return killed the other. They were both under warranty so it didn't cost me anything for them. I've just bought a lot of stupid *** bolts for the battery terminals here lately cause they just aren't long enough and been having to buy new ones. Anyway, we replace both the battery and alternator and my buddy is holding the battery before we set it in the tray and the car starts right up like it's suppose to. So we set it down in the battery tray and now I don't have any battery at all. No dome light, no response from turning the key. It's like the battery isn't connected at all. The connections are tight and everything is connected. We didn't hear any popping like a fuse busted, but the car is loud so maybe I didn't hear anything. I have no idea, maybe fusible link?

Any ideas would be great cause I'm having to have my dad take me to work tonight cause it won't start.

Yeah, I'm pretty much ignorant when it comes to electrical stuff, I can replace whatever, but I'll probably have no idea what you're talking about when you name something in anything other than straight up description. So please be specific. I'm hoping Shoebox will know about this cause I'm not good with electrical.

Might also check out the ignition switch (electrical switch not key) if it decides to go on ya it can sometimes work and then just die and take all the power with it... mines been through 2 in 2 years. this last time it at least got me home, thank god it was freezing and i had already had it warmed up inside. had no lights, no fan (mine comes on with the key), no radio, wipers, blower, nothin but the engine runnin. If you have an automatic, its an expensive little bastard, but i beleive... and i may be wrong, but i think you can use the manual switch thats like 10 bucks. Only difference i can tell is the auto has the shifter interlock on it. next time mine dies, thats what im gonna try. ANYWAY, might not be your problem but just an idea in case your fusables are good.

If you have no headlights, interior lights...I would say it is a battery cable connection. Facing the battery on the side mount cable connectors is a metal ring (like a washer) with some little tips that stick out. If they get flattened, it can cause a poor connection to the battery, even if the bolt is tight.
Also check the connection in the red, plastic 12v junction.
