My friends '88 GTA is stuck at my house cause it won't start. Its has the L98 TPI 350 in it, and he just got headers/exhaust installed about 1-2 months ago, starter is less than a year old. Hasn't had any starting problems, he came over parked behind me then 30mins later it fired right up and he moved it(was running like 1 min tops). 1-2 hours later turn they key and it does nothing, no sounds, just nothing. Battery voltage is good, power and ground at the starter are good, I think the solenoid lead is not getting power from the ign switch. We did try to jump 12v to the solenoid lead but it's kind of tight in there and I'm not 100% sure I got good connection, but it did nothing. The things that I'm thinking are solenoid, neutral safety switch, the ign switch, or maybe a toasted wire. Am I on the right track? How/what should i test and where should I start?
