I recently purchased a 95 Firebird with the LT1- M6.
The car was not running when I purchased it. The water pump had just been replaced but the Opti spark had not been touched. I checked fuel pressure with engine not running. I had 46 lbs. I installed the new opti unit and the car fired up immediately. I drove the car approx. 20 miles and it run fine. I filled the car with fuel and drove 2 blocks to home. The car set for about 30 minutes. I got back in the car and fired it up, started down the street. As I slowed for a stop sign the engine died. The car would crank but only fire erratically. I pushed the car back to garage and started checking things out. I did not like the readings I was getting from the coil so I replaced it with a used one off of my 94 Z-28. The car fired and run like nothing had happened. I run the engine for about 10 minutes and checked fuel pressure. I show 45lbs while running. I started down the street and as I stopped for the stop sign, again the engine just died and will not fire again. Any ideas. I at a loss on this problem. I have not replaced the wires or plug at this time. The plugs look good and are dry. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
