No green eye on battery, how do I jump it?

My 01 Z-28 has been in my garage since Oct/04. I've driven it probably a half dozen times in my sub just to keep the charge up on the battery but of course it still died on me. I was wondering how should I charge the battery since the hydrometer is clear. Jumper cables, jumper kit or maybe a new battery. The interior lights and radio still fire up. Help please. PS. I put this in the LS1 forum because I heard from my brother in law that there is a difference in how you would handle the LT1 in this same situation.

I took it to the dealer and had them replace the battery (under warranty) and the problem went away.
I had this same problem. This was the orginal DELCO battery.
My solution was I got to looking at the battery and terminals, and found I had corrosion built up inside the connector. It was very hard to see. When I went to take the battery out the positive terminal (female side on battery) on the battery broke out of the battery. Evidentaly I found out if that connection sat just right it would start and run right, other times it would be hard to start or not start at all.

Definately something to look in to.

I disconnect the negative lead when I store my car... sometimes I forgot to unplug my radar detector and that drained the battery, but disconnecting the neg. lead seems to be a pretty safe method. Batteries are way too expensive to replace.
