Re: ngk tr55 spark plugs
Is the engine stock or modified? Power adders (forced induction, N2O) require different plugs than naturally aspirated engines. Significant power increase require colder plugs. Then there's the issue of conventional plugs vs. platinum or iridium.

Re: ngk tr55 spark plugs
Given the mods, you should be OK with the stock heat range. If you opt for platinum or iridium (my recommendation), electrode erosion due to heat and high miles is greatly reduced. With conventional non-precious metal plugs, you will need to replace more often, and inspect at least initially, to check for the gap opening up with the stock heat range.
I have used NGK plugs and had no problems. I think GM started using NGK for the LSx engines.... but not positive. I did have problems with the factory AC Delcos losing the platinum pucks, but that was 20 years ago.... hopefully they've improved since then.l
Should have no problems with the NGK TR55ix

Re: ngk tr55 spark plugs
Hey guys I got 6 spark plugs done already,i didn't realize it was a p.I.t.a.on some of them. Ok the 3rd one on passenger side head is there a certain spark plug tool I need to get that one out because I can't get the ratchet into the socket. The ratchet I'm using is a duralast one

Re: ngk tr55 spark plugs
Try a ring/combination scanner to crack it loose.
Push a 6" piece of rubber hose onto the end of the plug.
Miles easier
All my cars have needed 2 or 3 ways to get all the plugs out.
Running mac mid length headers takes about 15-20 mins without rushing.

Re: ngk tr55 spark plugs
I'm already done, but I was talking about I couldn't get the ratchet on the spark plug socket and turn it to take it out. I just used a 3/4 wrench on the end of the 5/8 socket n it was alot easier. Thanks

Re: ngk tr55 spark plugs
I bought a "collapsing" spark plug socket 20+ years ago. Needs only 3/4" clearance between tip of plug and obstruction (e.g. manifold). Works with both 5/8" and 13/16" plugs. Useful for some of the LT1 plugs, stock manifolds or headers.
