New Guy With A Convertible Question...

Hey Gang! New to the board. I just purchased my first convertible, an '02 Z28. I was wondering where all the water goes that runs down thru the gap between the body & the fabric of the top. This may sound stupid, but it looks to run down into the body somewhere & I am concerned if it causes any damage of if it is designed to channel the water out. Thanks in advance!

When it's dry, take a hose and run water over the back of the top. Look under the car, you'll see where it comes out.

P.S. like all converts. they will eventually leak. If you haven't started treating the seals and top, do so now. Several companies make sprays for the top. The most common leak point is where the top front and side window seals meet.

Also make sure that little rubber flap stays there. Mine kept falling off, and with that off the water DID get in. If it does its job, the water will get channeled out around the trunk and go out the back of the car. Wash your car for the first time and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about, because after you drive it all the dirt from the road gets stuck there and makes your cars *** look filthy. Enjoy the 'vert.. I sure do miss mine.

Oh man tell me about it. I've found a good way to beat most of it though:

While your drying, pop the hood and dry off the sides of the trunk lid/spoiler.. then drive a few houses/buildings down, repeat. Wipe off the water that falls down. Repeat until dry.
