The new 7.0 Liter corvette engine
The new 7.0 Liter corvette engine
Does any one know what the cubic inches of the new 7.0 vette motor is? Also does anyone have the conversion for liter to cubic inches? Just curious.
Thanks
Derek

its a bored and stroked 350 small block...in the Z06 it is making about 500 H.P at the wheels

Couldn't they have made that from the LS6 platform?? Isn't it rated at 500 HP? THat dosen't mean the wheels, right?
The LS1 Blocks have the thinner sidewalls, not bore-able. -At least what I thought. That's a lot of punching and stroking on a small block!

Re: The new 7.0 Liter corvette engine
The LS7 is a direct descendant of the LS1 - LS6 - LS2 series of engines. It has nothing to do with a 350SBC.
This V-8, dubbed the LS7, is based on the latest incarnation of the small-block architecture, which GM calls Gen IV. However, virtually every component has been reengineered to achieve the greater displacement and higher output.
Compared with the LS2-the base C6 engine-the LS7 has a new block with a bore of 4.13 inches and a stroke of 4.00 inches (versus 4.00-by-3.62 inches). To accommodate the larger holes with the standard 4.4-inch bore spacing, Chevy engineers switched from the LS2's cast-in-iron liners to thinner pressed-in liners.
Within the LS7 block, you'll find a forged-steel crankshaft, forged-steel main-bearing caps, titanium connecting rods, and forged pistons. A dry-sump oiling system with an eight-quart reservoir ensures proper lubrication of this long-stroke engine at its 7000-rpm redline.

Yeah.......
427ci is 427 ci...
Having a small, aluminum block that weighs less than a huge cast iron big block and has amazingly designed heads and fuel injection is worse......how????
