Need Some Major Advice!!!

Ok Fbods Peeps. I need some major advice and imput on your ideas and thoughts.
As of October 1, 2005 I got married to my gorgoues wife Mary. Going into this Wedding that was planned. We found out that im going to be having my first SON with this women. Now Before alll this has happen. I have a 355 Camaro that Spun some bearings on the freeway and has bee sitting in my mother in laws house for a long time. Recently I have started pulling the motor out myself. Today IM going to take it out and take it to my Buddy for a rebuild. NOW HERES my problem. I DONT KNOW if I wanna keep my Camaro as a PURE DRAG car. Or just get the bearings replaced rebuild it and put it back as a STREET/STRIP CAR. I really want to do a 383 stroker motor. but not sure if I even have the CASH for one right now. SO Do I let my car sit for a while and build a stroker. My mother in Law also doesnt wont my car sitting in here driveway that much longer too. So im faced with that deliema. My baby will be here in MARCH. Around my birthday so I really wanted to Get my camaro done and out of the way before the baby gets here. So imput please. If you can relate to this. I would like to know how you handled this. I miss my camaro VERY VERY MUCH and wish I can still drive it on the street. But it seems little things break down and keeping it up can become a pain. Which is why im leaning my towards pure drag car. Thanks

I'd say if you're tight for money right now, but want your car back, just re-ring it and put new bearings in (provided nothing major got hurt) and DRIVE THE CAR. We've been having problem after problem with the '73 trying to make it a "street / strip" car, it's frustrating. Considering it's over 400 HP, who gives a s**t when it's parked in the garage all the time anyways.

Make your car run for now, and "play" with it later when you've got a little more time and/or money.

Congrats on your marriage and having a baby!

Yeah Thats what im thinking. Also I was thinking if I dont make it a street car. And just keep the 355. My Car went 13.04 at 106 UNTUNED. So Im still looking for a 12 sec run. BUt theres a lot of stuff not going back inthat car. like the AC PUMP. (going with Delete Bracket) Taking out water pump going with Electric. And gettng heads ported. PLus people say that 383 not that much faster than 355. I would have to admist my 355 felt good and strong when it was running.

I'm not even gonna touch that one ... but have a look at the cars in my sig ... our '73 has a 355, and my '81 had a 383. Unfortunately I don't have a good track number for the '81 (issues), but we ran a 12.7 with the '73. FWIW, the 383 was a much "milder" motor than the 355, but I think it would have given the '73 a run for its money.

Personally, I would just piece it together and do a budget build. Make it driveable and be done with it for awhile. If you were to go the "drag car" option, that would empty your funds rather quickly I'm sure.
