I need a good photo of the hose that comes out of the bottom passenger side of the water pump that goes to the heater core (passenger side). I need to see the flow restrictor valve - it should be a plastic piece on the line just a couple inches from the water pump.

From what I can tell mine has fallen off, I only have the two hose ends with nothing in between. GM doesn't have a supplier for the $30 part but they do have an assembly with the part ($170) and I can't spend that right now. I did get something that I think might work off of a junked LT1 Caprice but seeing as how I don't know what the original part looked like I can't see if this Caprice piece is even close.

edited to say that autozone doesn't appear to have an aftermarket piece either. If anyone knows of a source for the part then I would appreciate that as well.

 

Other people have seemed to be able to get the part at their local auto supply (including Autozone). You could just join the hoses together with a hose barb (union) temporarily. Some to that as a permanent fix.

Carquest part # 277608 interchanged from the # Rob gave... Heater Control Valve cost around 13 dollars..
