Need help flushing heater core on 97 T/A

I am trying to flush the heater core on my 97 T/A, but I can't get it to flush in reverse. Every time I put the hose to the outlet side it just backs up and flows back out of the hose. Flushing from the inlet side is fine and it runs right through. The I have the temperature control inside the car all the way on the hot side. Any ideas of what is going on?

Try using a fitting to actually connect your garden hose to the heater hose, then turn the water on and power flush it.

Thanks for the advice. I found a sprayer that fit in the end of the hose really tightly and it worked perfectly. Heat is now working fine.

Awesome my heater isn't running too hot either and it really needs flushed. Where are these fittings?
