Need help -- failed NJ emissions for the idle reading

Passed with flying colors all around except on the idle reading for HC ppm. The standard for this measure is 220 and I scored a 456. I just changed the plugs and fuel filter about a week before going for the inspection. Is it just a fluke? For reference the "high idle" standard is again 220 and I scored a 149.

Thanks in advance.

What were the idle test results for CO - measured and passing limit? What were the results for the high idle CO and NOx?

Initial thought would be leaking injector(s), but knowing full test results may indicate other issues.

I'd pull the rails up, pressure the fuel system, and look for drips.

So basically pull the rails up and ignition on?

Re: Need help -- failed NJ emissions for the idle reading

Thanks for the advice. I didn't find any "drips" like I thought I would visually but I did get a little fuel on my finger when I rubbed my finger on one of the injector nozzles. I believe it is cylinder number 1 (driver side front most cylinder). Should I replace just this one or all of them? There is about 147,000 miles on the car if I remember correctly. Also should I use standard OEM injectors or any type of upgrade?
