Need HELP, ASAP! Please look!
Ok, I've had an 81 Firebird for about a year now that I'm working on. It had a crappy Turbo motor that blew so I had it my friends shop to get it pulled. I recently moved out of town, so I had to move it to my parents house. The problem is the steering wheel is locked in the foreward position. There is no motor or tranny, and the keys my wife threw away because she thought they were to another Camaro project car that I parted out. Can I just hammer a flat head screwdriver into the ingnition key hole to get it to turn and release the steering? Or do I have to jerk the steering wheel pretty hard and break the mechanism inside? Right now the car is in front of my parents house, but if it's not moved within 24 hours it will be towed away to a junk yard thanks to my parents neighbors being a$$holes. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance,

Well I cant really help, but I looked!
All I can say is that if its a VATS key a screw driver probably wont work.
can u get 2 car jacks on dollies and try and roll it, or use a floor jack to turn it?
Call up a bunch of friends and lift it! I think it took 15 people to lift my 79 cutlass.

There are these wheels you can get, you jack up the car and place them on them. like this

or, if you can get the car in neutral, you can jack it up and put it on one of these http://www.perintonrv.com/images/Car...r_dolleysm.jpg u-haul has those i think.

Re: Need HELP, ASAP! Please look!
replace the ignition lock, autoparts stores have them cheap($20), pullo the wheel, remove the lock plate, remove the turn signal switch, and rempve the 1 screw holding the old cylinder in
first 10 steps(they are really short, simple steps) here

Well, I finally got the wheel to release. I took a flat head screw driver with a hammer and turned it that way. Thanks for the advice everyone! I guess the first thing I need to do now is buy a new lock kit for it.
