Re: Need Ac Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is the system holding pressure and showing fully charged on the AC fill gauge? Reason I ask is that mine has to be about 90-95% fully charged for the AC compressor clutch to even start to click on and off....and about 100% full, with good pressure to stay on.............Joe

^what he said...

it doesn't have to be 90% full. Mine clicked on after the first can of freon.

Re: Need Ac Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

there's a couple of pressure sensors in the system. Might want to try those. You can pick them up a t the local AP store and switch them out to see if that helps.

Re: ac compressor not turning on!!!!!!!!!

Are you talking specifically about the vacuum check valve? We had a leaky compressor that was replaced, worked fine, then randomly has quit and worked again. The way I got it to work was messing around with the HVAC controls and it magically worked.

Now it has quit again (suspiciously after I turned it from the cold position to halfway and shut the car off).. so you think the valve is the culprit?

The compressor will turn if I reset the pcm.

In the future, i would also suggest reading the responses to your posts rather than start three threads about the same problem.

Re: ac compressor not turning on!!!!!!!!!

Actually, he's started 4 different threads on the same subject, if you count his highjack on someone else's thread.

dfuhry:

Post your question ONCE, then wait for responses. Now you have four threads going, all getting different responses, and with everyone asking you questions that may already have been answered. Not the way to get the best answer to your problem.

I'll try and merge all the threads into one.

Re: Need Ac Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First off....the compressor only will kick on if it gets a certain pressure...if there is a clog somewhere (dryer/lines) then it will probably turn on and off....the low side should read somewhere between like 25 and 40 where the high side should be up over 200 I believe...WHEN U INSTALLED THE COMPRESSOR U OPENED THE SYSTEM...MEANING YOU MUST RUN A VACUUM ON THE SYSTEM TO MAKE SURE IT IS CLEAN AND FLOWING.
