My drivers side headlight doesn't work.

My drivers side headlight doesn't work.
So I was driving at night the other day and noticed that only one headlight was working. The one on my drivers side doesn't light up, but the high beams work on both sides. Can I just replace the bulb, or do I have to replace the entire assembly. Or do you think it's just a loose wire.
My Camaro is a '97 by the way.

I'm pretty sure you're going to have to replace the entire assembly (bulb with the housing). It's not that expensive, maybe $10? It's a sealed halogen setup so you can't just take the bulb out.. I'm not entirely sure, it's been awhile since I've had to change one myself.

the whole housing + bulb is about $25 from autozone, BUt, you can just replace the bulb, itll take a little work tho, you need to take the whole bulb/housing out of the car, and heat up the back of the housing w a heat gun or hair dryer, pull it off and replace a part of that piece, its a little hard to explain, maybe someone else who knows aobut it can explain it better
by the way, ur highbeams still work bc there in their own housing, the bulb is out on ur lowbeam, that is all

Ya you need to get a new lowbeam. Its a sealed beam setup so you need the whole piece. Its pretty cheap. Replace both sides at once...if one went the other will follow.

Re: My drivers side headlight doesn't work.
So I should replace the low-beam housing on both sides right? Is it hard to replace? About how long does it take to do, and should I buy the lights from a place like NAPA and Autozone, or should I order it from the dealership?
Thanks

Re: My drivers side headlight doesn't work.
id just get the "capsule" from autozone, i did it, it only cost $7 compared to $25 for the new housing, check this out,

and this isnt a "dealer item" IMO, autozone or napa is fine
by the way, swapping the housings is easy, theres just a couple of screws that keep them clamped on, make sure that you dont mess w the bulb balancer(cant think of the name )on accident

Here is a link to how you can just replace the bulb and not the whole housing. This is a pretty good write-up and you should not have any problems with its directions. Good luck.

Re: My drivers side headlight doesn't work.
Since we are talking about lights, my foglight went out. The lens is cracked and it has some minor rust in it. I was wondering what i have to change to get this going again and if autozone would have it? I don't use my foglights ever so i may just cover them both up with black window tint to make them look blacked out.

Re: My drivers side headlight doesn't work.
I've never replaced a light bulb or taken one apart. I know id need soemthing new but what exactly do i need to get? Will they have my foglight at a autozone, murrays, or advanced auto?

Re: My drivers side headlight doesn't work.
If you are looking for a stock foglight housing, you won't find it at any of the places you mentioned. Going to be a dealer item. However, you can get some aftermarket foglights that will out perform the stock fogs for alot cheaper. Good luck.

Here's a thread on installing aftermarket fogs in place of the stock ones:

The lighting from the Hellas is tons better than the stockers. The stock housings are 100$+ at the dealer. FOR ONE! The Hellas are 40-65$ for the kit (2 lights + relay & wiring) and so out perform the factory lights I'll drive around town and forget to turn on my headlights 'cause I can see fine with the fogs. I've driven by cops at 2:00AM with just fogs/markers on and not been hassled.
Here's a good thread on the options for upgrading the lights on our 'mini-quad' 93-97 Camaros:

Stock sealed beam for 93-97 Camaros is PN H4351 low, H4352 high. $25 each around here.
