Is my car haunted?

Probably not but I have some odd things happening. I know not all of these things are related but they are all electrical.

If I turn my ignition on sometimes the check oil light comes on and I had to turn the key on and off a few times to get the light off even though the oil level is correct.

I can turn on my ignition and everything works normally. I start my car then I have issues. First of all my left turn signal indicator in the dash comes on. Its dim. My wipers wont work, my headlights turn on by themselves with the switch off. If I turn on the headlights they are very dim.

Then I drive for 10 minutes and all the issues go away. Wipers work, headlights are normal.

Then my low coolant light comes on.... Ive removed the sensor and cleaned it and it makes no difference.

1995 camaro, lt1, no mods. Compustar alarm and aftermarket deck.

Oh yeah.

A few days ago my lighter stopped working. I joked with the wife during a drive and pushed it in. 15 minutes later it popped out onto the floor.

Sorry but I had to have a good laugh over this. Sounds to me either you have bad wiring / grounds, or maybe a bad battery? If the car doesn't seem to work till you are driving down the road, Im thinking your battery is drained just enough to start but then once if chargers up, everything runs properly.

Another problem could be, you could have a wiring issue in your fuse box. If your cig lighter all of a sudden started working, there could be loose wires in there causing everything to go hay wire lol.

Oh and for the low coolant light, the sensors are common to go, mine just went. Sometimes you can clean them and they work and sometimes you cant.

Right on. I laugh about it too but it still sucks. I live in WA ( The great raingutter of the NW) . Thank god for rainx. The bad battery thin is possible but Ive tried a different battery and had the same issue.

The part that throws me off is it running okay after a few minutes. I thought that could be the alternator but I used a DMM and it all seems fine.

A bad relay possibly?

All my grounds look fine as far as I can tell.

Im at a loss.

Rrain, I know where your coming from! Im just north of you a few hours in the rainy Vancouver area of BC canada. So much for spring hey?!

Relays usually either work or not at all. Do you have a Haynes manual? They have info on wiring and relays as well as shoeboxe's website.

So many possibilities, fusebox, headlight on/off switch etc. etc.

I wouldn't throw money at it no. I have learned the best thing is take a starting point and trace back. Electrical can be very weird but using a volt meter and working your way through is pretty much your only option. That and the wiggle test on the wires to see if anything glitches haha.

Keep asking questions, someone else on this thread might have had a similar problem. Only thing that sucks is playing the waiting game for and help or advice.

Check found this, check it out Instrument Cluster Pinout

Check the power over these terminals and trace back. Or you could trace from the fuse box first, might be a bit easier. Pull the fuses and test.

What I dont get is once the car warms up or drives for a bit, everything works??

Yeah. Everything is fine after a few minutes. I wiggle tested the whole freaking car.

I did notice that after everything starts working fine one thing is still wrong. If I turn on my brights only my ps headlights work and the ds turn indicator on the dash comes on.
