msd? wires leave unhooked?

i got his msd ignition 6a. i am putting it in and the wires that come from it go into the coil and icm, but what do i do with the stock plugs that go there? does anyone know? i dont have instruction book! do u just leave them unplugged, but where did them wires come from? if they go to the computer , then am i getting rid of that and the msd is taking it over? i dont know, please help!

MSD instructions here:
http://www.msdignition.com/downld1.htm

The instructions for the MSD 6a:
http://www.msdignition.com/pdf/6series.pdf
Note pages 14-15-16 [there's schematic for install without harness']

And specifically for LT1's:
http://www.msdignition.com/pdf/pdf10.pdf

For a 97 you need the 8877 harness.. for 93-6 you need 8876..

Re: msd? wires leave unhooked?

hey thanks bro! i went to msd right after i posted that and found what i was looking for!( went to msd site)
the kid i bought it from said it hooked into the icm, so wheni went to do thta i got all confused. but know i understand that it plugs into the coil , not the icm! so even at this time of night i think i am gonna go try it! i will be working pretty much nonstop for the next week or so i dont have much time to do it, so i might as well see if i can get it done tonite! but thanks again for the answer.

Re: msd? wires leave unhooked?

If you have the MSD harness connected to your coil and the engine runs, then the MSD is working.
