Question Monsoon Stereo HELP

I just upgraded from a 98 Z28 A4 to a 2001 Z28 M6. The 98 had a Monsoon CD player that was more than I ever needed. The 01 has a Monsoon tape deck. After looking through the car I found all the wiring from where the previous owner had put in an aftermarket amp and stereo. I'm not sure if this tape deck was the original or not. First, does anyone know where I can get a Monsoon diagram so I can put the factory amp back in the car. I don't have the amp but I'm going to get one. Second, is there any code I can look for on the car to determine whether it once had a Monsoon system or not?

I'm pretty sure the factory amp has been removed, even though I'm not 100% sure where it would be. I did find a wiring harness in the back that is factory installed, were I believe the factory amp would plug in. My 98 system had a lot more bass and sounded alround better than the 01.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Is it connected to the back of the head unit, under the dash? or in the rear of the car?

It's nice when people speak with nothing in their heads.

There is no special connector on the radio for the amp. The connector on the back of a Monsoon radio looks EXACTLY like the connector on a non-Monsoon unit. The stock amp was mounted on the passenger side in the rear just above the spare tire. It sounds like you already found the connector for it. If your lucky they just ran new speaker wires and all you have to do is pull the panels and reconnect the speakers to the stock harness and plug in a stock amp.

When you said you are pretty sure you found the connector - where did you find the connector. I have the tape deck also, and the disc changer is on the DS - the amp is on the PS. Are you looking at the connector for the changer?

I may have a diagram for the monsoon, do you still need it?
