Manual Shifter Console

Ok well Im in the process of converting my auto to a T56 and I have all the parts except the shifter console. Well, like some of you might know, that piece has been discontinued by GM but when they where still making it, it was gonna cost ~70 bucks. A little pricey but hey, i was gonna pay it. So after three weeks of searching, lo and behold, Hawks had three used consoles left. So without thinking I order it (without asking the price, i know...) and its $135 shipped to my door, without the upper boot, just the trim piece!! That really bothers me because I know that piece does not cost anymore than 5 bucks to make!!!! Sorry to vent my frustrations but that just seems like a ridiculious mark up. Stupid supply and demand! Does anyone else out there feel like that is a rip off or is it just me being tight with my money?!?!

console = big
so
shipping = expensive

$100 is still expensive for a console piece.

Just to put this into perspective...the trim plate in Canada, when it was available, retailed at $178.50 plus tax...so how frustrated do you think us Canadians feel when we have to purchase parts for our cars???

how do you figure that a part only costs 5 bucks to make? in terms simply of materials yes it probably only cost 5 bucks. then add all the costs of the guy operating the machine that made it, his supervisor, the packaging of said part, the salary of the people shipping the part and costs to ship it to the dealer and the salary of the guy that is selling the part.
