Im converting my car from an auto to a manual and im trying to find the shifter console for the manual. GM has discontinued this piece, as did Year One, do yall know where I can find this piece new? Ive checked EBAY but all that seems to come up is the shifter console for automatics. Any help would help me alot.

I just did the swap on my car last August, and I ordered the console plate through GM ... they still supplied it . Maybe try ordering one for a different year? (although I'm not sure if the plate would then fit the console the same, if they're different styles? )

Otherwise, keep trying e-Bay, or maybe in the Classifieds here on the site?

 

Do you think the LT1 and LS1 shifter consoles are the same? I would think they would be different.

 

I've been trying to find one myself. The prices some pay on ebay for these things just seems like way too much (150 for just the shift plate !!!)

 

the consoles are not the same. Here's the rundown:

stats are for camaros:

94-96 - same console, shifter plate up top was changed for m6 or a4

97-02 - same console in TA/Camaro - shifter plate incorporated cupholder and was changed out per m6 and a4

Hope this helps. I'm looking for a m6 shifter plate too. believe me they are hard to find and expensive because GM discontinues interior parts etc after 10 years, "hard" parts after 20 years.
