Only on the looks. which is better looking in your opinion? the 96/97 ss camaro or a 98-02 ss camaro??? the color would be in black...

 

black LT1 SS with zr1 wheels = heaven

 

I find it hard to believe that so many people here actually like the '93-'97 look. I own a '96, but love the look of the LS1 cars.

 

I prefer the look of the LS1 Camaros as well

 

Ditto...or Red. The first LT1 SS I ever saw was a red 6-speed with t-tops & leather. I am on my 2nd F-body but have not had an SS yet...next time .

 

Even more so now that that cam is in....LT1
I like the 97 most because it has the front of the older SS with the tail lights and interior of the newer SS. I never liked the fisheyes of the newer head lights.

 

Same here, the "catfish" look didn't do anything for me either. Now, before they came out MotorTrend had a concept drawn of what the new front end was going to look like. It looked awesome! Chevy should have done that instead of what they did. I'll see if I can find that issue and scan a copy. I may have thrown it out though....

 

97 ss is where its at for me. IMO the oval headlights don't really fit the original lines of the 4th gen too well. but i like the newer interior. and black is definatly the way to go....

 

LS1 SS no doubt,the LT1 isnt even in the equation for me...Id take a clean IROC over any clean LT1 any day of the week.

I would take both its hard to choose.. 97s look is hot and im not a huge fan of the sebring look alike front end but i do like the newer look too. I would probraly have to say the newer style 98+ just because its newer and the ls1 came in it.

I am the kind of person that generally likes newer cars over older ones but for camaros, I slightly like the lt1 look better. It's not that i dont like the ls1 look but I just like the lt1 look better. Looks aside and sound aside, i would get the ls1.

 

The LS1 SS looks better than the LT1 SS.

BUT

The LT1's look better than the regular LS1's. I get LS1's confused with sebrings sometimes.

 

Another vote for the LT1, but an LS1 comes in close second when equipped with chrome 10 spoke wheels.
