lt1 piston #q's
I've always thought and still believe the stock lt1 pistons were of hypertectic construction. Ive done some research on the net and confirmed this. My engine builder that put my short block together keeps telling me that I should have just re-ringed the block instead of putting new pistons in, because the stock pistons were forged, and so he says I wasted money by getting new forged pistons (which looked like jewels when I first opened them
) Instead of letting his shop get ahold of some new stock pistons. What you guys think? The whole basis for this rebuid was to have a strong bottom end that could support some spray a lil better than a stocker.
