Get an ls1 car. They have more power to begin with and they respond very well to mods.

You can beat alot of mustangs with the LT1. But an LS1 would be an icing on the cake for you.

either of those engines with a SC will hit those power levels. An LS1 has the advantage of more aftermarket support, and have higher HP potential with their superior heads. The LT1 cars are cheaper as an initial investment. If cost is not a big issue, go with an LS1 car as your starting point....and that's coming from an LT1 owner ('95 Z28)

I doubt it matters, either platform can be built up to make good numbers. Its not like the Mustang guys aren't modding their cars either and those modded 03/04 Cobras will give any car a run for its money.

thanks i am new to the car world. i am kinda on a budget. iam wanting to find a 6 speed ls1 or lt1 for around 8000. iam be paying cash for it. iam selling some of my toys to get one. that way i have 3000 to 4000 for mods for the car. I am not trying to go crazy with the car just dont wont an average car spanking my *** in a race. mostly street racin people off the street. Just wantin to have fun with the car. I am a fan of chevy. so want to stick with them.

if your tight on budget then i would not even be considering a s/c. i would get a ls1 and throw a 150 shot at it

with the proper safety precautions....a 150shot is not that dangerous. assuming the engine is in good order to start with.

You should be fine with a 150 shot, if you wanted to be extra extra cautious, you could run a 125.

ls1, headers, good catback, ls6 intake (if it already doesnt have one), and a lil bit of the spray, and u will pretty much dominate.

450-500 with just bolt ons? Or did you mean with the Super Charger?

With just Bolt-On's, that number mite be hard to reach.
