lt1 junkies needed here for swapping motor to different vehicle...please read

what are the differences if any from a 93-96 car to a 97? will everything, mainly speaking motor and tranny bolt right in from my wrecked 97 into say a 93-96 car? is the computer the exact same as far as hooking it up those cars? i dont know any differences, besides OBD1 to OBD2, does that change much for me? i would be taking motor with pcm and tranny to new body
THANKS

new thoughts...

thought 1)) if I were to buy a 5speed 6 cylinder car and switch everything from my car to it(motor tranny rear-end, suspension) I know everything will bolt in pretty easily, as far as computer goes, is it just basically a simple unplug from my current car and it will plug into the 6 cylinder or will i have to pull the whole wiring harness out of my car for it? dumb question but has anyone actually done this on here?

thought 2)) If i buy an automatic lt1 car, and switch it to a manual, how difficult is it to switch it over besides cutting the hole for the shifter and the foot pedals, does the clutch feel the same, maybe its just me but im scared the clutch will feel different, thoughts would be greatly appreciated

As for swapping your 97 drivetrain into a 93-96 F-body, as long as the car you're swapping into was an LT1, everything should bolt up fine. V6 cars have different motor mounts I believe. You need to keep the PCM from your wrecked car with the drivetrain, it's OBD2. The only problem you may run into is if the car is pre-95, some interior wiring may differ.

On thought 1, like I said, interior wiring may be different. You will definitely need to keep your LT1 engine and tranny harness.

On thought 2, it's not that hard at all. Took me 2 days. Finding all the parts is the hardest part. Cutting the hole was not hard, I used the rubber boot as a template. Use this site http://afrashteh.com/tranny_pics/T56.htm. Plus there are tons of posts on here. The clutch would not feel any different, considering you used the stock clutch. I have never driven a stock manual F-body, so I can't say what it feels like. I put a new aftermarket clutch in, and it drives exactly like it should.

I would use the k member out of my wrecked car if i decide to go that way, thanks for the input, sounds easier to fabricate an auto to a 6 speed than switch a 6 cylinder car to an 8
