LT1 guys inside

I know everyone says the LS1 is superior to the LT1, but they both have their pros and cons. I just want to get an idea of how many LT1 guys plan on ever upgrading to an LS1, wether is be selling the LT1 for an LS1, trade in, add the the car collection, or LT1 4 Life.

Re: LT1 guys inside

I'll keep the LT1 till I get a new 07/08 Camaro (finger's crossed)

It is temping to sell it and buy an LS1 seeing that I've put a bunch of money into it, and with the upcoming headers, I'll just be beating stock LS1s.

And say there is no new camaro coming up. Even though I could get a C5 Z06 or maybe a new C6, corvette really isn't my image, and neither is GTO. Should be an interesting next few years

Re: LT1 guys inside

well my formula in the sig was totaled, so I bought the other sig car-LS1. Well I'd say they are different, but I do miss certain things about the LT1, for instance at part throttle and low rpm the LT1 would pull very hard, much harder than the LS1. Of course I'm refering to anything below 200 rpm, because after that the LS1 just kills the LT1 and it pulls much stronger and keeps on pulling where as the lT1 would fall off. My stock LS1 feels almost as strong from 3000 rpm and up as my LT1 with all the mods in signature. I think my LT1 had a little more power, but not much. I know at the track I raced a new corvette, not zo6, but we had the same mph and nearly identical et, his was slightly better, but then again his 60ft was much better. My point is these LS1's are great, lots of power over the LT1, but I wouldn't sell an LT1 just to get an lS1, its not worth it, because you can make an LT1 very very fast as well. Although when i go through water I always cringe for fear of the optispark getting wet, then i remember I don't have one anymore with the LS1, that alone makes the engine so much better. Many of the LS1's I took out didn't feel very fast, the one I own now and one other one felt pretty fast, the others were very slow, so buying one used makes it hard to find one that hasn't been abused or one that is just naturaly faster.

Re: LT1 guys inside

Yesturday I went with my friend to a dealership to look at a 01 SS. The car was basically brand new with only 5k miles. It was Pewter with a black top, T Tops, leather, 6 spd, everything except ASR . My friend wasn't comfortable with her stick driving skills so I test drove it instead. I took it on the highway and I was driving it normal, then the salesman (awesome guy, has a 600hp 03 Cobra) told me to get on it , I just rolled thru the gears up to ~120 and I was in love. The LS1, I had a huge smile on my face the entire ride. Of course, I don't have te money to buy one right now in my life but I will definitely be adding one to my car collection in the years to come. My friend is a girl too! She's always wanted a Camaro and the best part is...she said I'll get to drive it, not all the time of course I'm so excited.

Don't mean to burst your bubble but a stock LS1 will still be able to hold you off with just the exhaust work you have. Throw in gears then you can win.

lt1 for right now, i got enuf money problems as it is
it is tempting to one day add an ls1 ss to the collection (maybe even a 35th le) but we'll see
right now i'm waiting for a 07,08 z28 custom ordered to my specifications or later on getting a corvette z06 (hopefully a c6 z06 )
wouldn't that be something

Re: LT1 guys inside

The fastest LS1 is a few tenths faster than the Fastest LS1. Not worth arguing over fellows Though I must say I wont be having any fits with any stock ls1 cars any time soon. The LT1 modded is just as potent as any other engine... If I did get an LS1 I would daily drive it.. and start to heavily mod the LT1. I say add it to the collection.
