Anyone know of some good step by step guides to dropping an LS1 and T56 in a third gen? I'm thinking about buying a white Formula with ground effects and pulling the 305 and A4 and transplanting a complete pull from eBay.

If I can get the guy to come down $400, I can buy the car for $1000, and get a complete pull for about $4000 and make it under my $5000 play-toy budget, but the LS1/M6 still has to find its way into the car! Anyone know about how much all the extra mounting equipment will cost? $500? $1000?

theres tons of info on this board as well as a few of the 3rd gen boards. i kno that the T-56 will need an extra cross member for support, and since so many people have done this swap a company makes them. do a little searching and im sure ull find all the info u need. i had entertained this thought for a little while as well.

 

My search results didn't help me. I tried "LS1 in 3rd gen" and "LS1 in third gen." Heck, this thread comes up fifth, and it has that exact phrase in the title!

 

Why? You dont like the looks of the LS1 TA? Plus wouldnt a 3rd gen be heavier?

 

I thought 3rd gens were lighter but I could be wrong. A guy around here did a swap in a 92 z28 and it really moves out.
