LS1 swap into a v6 firebird.....need info
Hey guys. I came into a 1995 Firebird convertible recently, and the engine is roached (v-6) I have a buddy with a 1998 LS1 out of a Vette and a 4l60e trans with it. I want to swap the LS1 into my bird!! What all will I need to perform this swap? Is there a kit available? This sounds like it should be an easy swap - is it? Also, I would like to warm up the LS1 before I throw it into the bird. From what I have read so far, A good cam and some long tube headers should get me close to the 400 hp mark at the flywheel. I want to keep normal driveability with the new cam, just a nice lope. What cam would you guys recommend? Also, I don't feel like spending 1000 bucks on a set of headers. What are the best cheapest headers (long tube) I can get to reach my goals? I know I will need a good tune after this to reach my goals. thanx.

a cammed LS1 with headers will do close to 400rwhp. LS1s have close to 375 flywheel hp stock. As for wanting info on doing the swap, you might check LS1tech.com. They have a forum for LS1 swaps and i've seen a guy over there with a 95 v6 bird that he put an LS1 into.
