low coolant level light is on
back side of the radiator, must under the fill cap. i think there is a hose above it.
sensor goes bad and reads inaccurately....VERY common.
you can unplug it with no side affects...other than not having the sensor any mroe.

Here's a photo from Shoebox's site: http://shbox.com/1/low_coolant.jpg
Easy to access with the battery removed. The sensor is a common failure; it also doesn't cost that much and is easy to replace.
Double check that your radiator is full to be sure you don't have a real leak.

OK back to the bad day. Check the waterpump little weap hole for fluid. When the water pump is getting ready to go out the bearing runs hot and water leaks out the hole on the bottom. Ask for another opinion but this too will turn on the light.
That being a real leak, it which case the radiator would be down on fluid, causing the low coolant level light to come on, as it should.
You can clean the sensor too, the hole can get plugged.
