looking to upgrade

i'm getting an ls1 within the next month, i've had a 3rd gen and an lt1 camaro. what are the basic problems to look for in the ls1, and the first basic boltons to go with, lid/intake ect.?

Look to see if it's burning oil, thats a fairly common problem with LS1's. As far as mods, lid and cutout or catback are very good mods to start with, they respond very well.
