hey question which is lighter an 84 firebird or a 96 camaro im buying a firbird and going to take the v6 out of my camaro drop in a v8 and then put the v6 in the firebird wondering which one is lighter if the firebird is just wondering if its going to make is faster than the camaro with that v6

 

Thirdgens are heavier than 4th gens.

My 97 vert. which is supposed to weigh ~3480 actually weighs 3621.

 

The only way to know with absolute certainty which car is lighter would be to put each on a scale (ideally the same scale, one right after the other) and find out firsthand.

Options and mods change how much the car weighs.

In all likelihood, the '95 is heavier.

 

I've allways heard that the third gens were the lightest of all the Camaro body styles.
