Re: Keyless entry - visible confirmation

actually it was possible to have visible confirmation on the pre 97s as well. my old 96 had factory anti-theft and when it was armed (doors locked) it beeped the horn and flashed all lights. now on my 95, it just has keyless, but no anti-theft, so all that happens is the interior lights come on. Kinda useless in the day time. so if this gets figured out i'd be kinda interested in knowing too so that i could hook up a similar device

I just checked all camaro service manuals from '93-'02. You can re-program your remote from '96 and up .... from '96 models onwards there was a different remote than with earlier cars.
Anyway, there still has to be a way that '93-'95 cars can get a visual confirmation.

Its not ls1 this or lt1 that...its 93 to 96 and 97 to 02.
Yes, everything but the front grill, headlights, and ls-1 engine.

Fixing the stripped gear will take care of the problem.

BTW, there is no setting you can program on the alarm that will make it open the headlights. Your settings aren't being changed - it's just the alarm over-reacting to the headlight gear problem

thats from ls1tech, it seems alot of people have the same problem

It worked! I just did the gear rotation, and now the lights work fine, also for alarm/door lock confirmation the headlights now stay down. Good info!

I don't think Roger will mind me linking this for you folks.

http://www.wtfba.org/forums/index.php?board=12

It has ALL the owners manuals for 93 - 02 F-bodies listed as well as some other cool stuff.

This for those who have lost or didn't get a manual. At least you can find out what the capabilites of your year was.

Hope this is of some help,

PJ

Re: Keyless entry - visible confirmation

I looked at the guide for 94, and it did not say anything about being able to program the remote to flash lights or honk the horn, seems like the above post is right, you have to be at least a 96 with anti-theft.
