Re: key thingy

A new battery might do the trick. Does the fob work in other locations? The reason I ask is I park in downtown San Diego, and sometimes there is EM interference from either the Navy at North Island or the ATC tower at Lindbergh Field. My fob simply won't work! I have to unlock the car with the key, and try to stick the key in the ignition before the horn starts honking. EM interference can definitely overpower the little transmitter in the fob. It works fine after I leave the immediate vicinity.

Re: key thingy

The contacts could also be dirty - try cleaning them with a pencil eraser

and definitely try changing the battery

Re: key thingy

I was thinking it was some kind of interference also. But it was in a residential area..I dont think it is the battery..

LOL , that isn't new.
Change the batteries and clean the buttons. Electrical interference can be a problem in some locations.
