Key problem?

Shut my car off last night and when i went to start it it started and QUIT. I did notice that the tumbler felt different. I tried it many times, sometimes it would start and quit and other time it would just turn over. After frigging with it it finally stayed going. It ran fine but when I shot it off I had to go throught that ALL over again. Any thought on what this could be?

Sometimes the resistor pellet in the key isnt read by the car (security). It could be that. If you have a spare ignition key try it. You could also try cleaning the contacts on the key. If this is the cause you could get a knew key, just use a ohm meter to find the resistance of your key because there are like 12 different values. Or you can bypass the key sensor alltogether. Thats what I did.

If you have no security light, it's probably the ignition switch.

The light stayes on for a few seconds when the car does stay running. Also it goes out if I wait after turning the key forward before trying to start it. I found the other set of keys and tryed them and no differance?
