just got a camaro...question

I just got a an 2002 Z28 so far i love everything about the ride i just got a question about the taillight...bear with me ...but is it suppose to blink whenever u step on the brake? I 'm talkin about the exterior brakelight thats on the spoiler the left side of it blinks and right side of it stay steady....now i remember the dealer asked me if i wanted the option where it blinks faster so i know it's suppose to blink but i would have thought the entire assembly should blink when i step on the brake not just the left side of it... anybody got any answers????? this is not my first camaro but it is my first ls1 so i don't have any experience with the new camaros

The dealer asked you what? I ordered my SS brand new and went over every option. I sure don't remember that one.

You might have a couple of bulbs burned out.

I have never seen or heard of blinking brake lights. The dealer might have meant quicker flashing turn signals, I don't know if that was a factory option though.

Try switching the bulb that doesn't blink with the one that does to see if you just need to replace the bulb. If you discover it isn't the bulb it is probably a short, scrub the inside of the socket with some steel wool, make sure the car isn't on when you do this.

the brake light on the spoiler isnt supposed to blink when you step on the brake. somethings wrong with it. If the dealer is telling you its supposed to blink, he's lying.

Yea - check all your bulbs and connections back there, a blinking light may signal a problem...I think it usually means on that side of the vehicle as well.

I've seen this a few times, just not on Camaros. But there is something you can add to the lights to make the 3rd brake light flash when you step on the brake. Its supposed to make you more visible?
Maybe somebody added that to yours? I've seen it on a few cars recently.

That's good to have on a motorcycle so people driving their cages can be more aware of your presence.

But blinking lights on a cage is just dumb.

They have "sequential" tail lights for firebirds since the whole lamp assembly blinks when the turn signal is on. It makes it blink one bulb at a time from inside to outside. Never heard of it on brake lights or on camaros though.
