just back from the track :)

i ran the car again last night. the weather was atrocious... temp was 90 with 90% humidity and elevation is 1744. that makes for a density altitude of about 4500

1st run (car had cooled for about an hour)
drag radials 17psi and cutout closed
12.43 at 109.9 with a 1.82 sixty foot.

2nd run (car only cooled off for 5 minutes while i uncapped the cutouts)
still on drag radials 17psi
12.59 at 110.8 with a 2.02 sixty foot

3rd run (car cooled for 2 hours, the temp was down to 70 and the sun was down)
bolted on the et streets at 15psi
12.42 at 109.7 with a 1.86 sixty foot

4th run (car cooled for about 30 minutes)
tire pressure down to 13psi and did a longer burnout
12.22 at 110.4 with a 1.73 sixty foot

i wish i could run this car at sea level with decent weather, hello 11's

Re: just back from the track :)

track prep was non existant. the only time the car hooked up was on the 12.22 run. i did a 15-20 second burnout in 2nd gear and the car dead hooked.

i get the best sixty foot when i just stall it up to about 12-1400rpm...and then NAIL it

as far as tire pressure goes, im betting 15psi would have dead hooked if i had did a longer burnout...
those et streets like the heat

Re: just back from the track :)

i would be a good race, btw what was the DA on your run?
last november i came up to cincinnati to meet up with atljar and we ran at edgewater dragway. the weather was perfect, 40degrees, low humidy, elevation 492.
the DA was like -1000 or something
i ran a 12.5 at 115.4 with a bad sixty foot of 2.05, if i could have made a few more runs i would have hit 11's for sure. but i got kicked off for no rollbar....
since then i have went from mids to longtube headers, 48 to 58mm TB, ASP ud pulley, 24lb to 42lb injectors, and the car has lost 150-175lbs...and yet my traps have only been 110 this year....

Re: just back from the track :)

Sounds like your car runs real strong... I have a brother that lives in Cinci... But i have the same problem as you do no cage and their never will be.... What did your car dyno? I still need to get mine on the dyno and check the air/fuel still on the mail order tune I'm not sure on the d/a that day but the conditions were track was 663 above sea level, and 65* with 70% humidity not sure on the bara... Let me know if you came to Cinci... I am getting a tune in a couple of weeks....

Re: just back from the track :)

i wont be in cin anytime soon, its like a 6 hour drive for me...
i had my car on the dyno last fall with a failing stock fuel pump and before i changed headers, etc. it was 356hp/349rwtq, i was losing 10+ psi of fuel pressure above 5k rpm. at that time i ran at bristol and only ran 14.4 at 105 with a 2.48 sixty foot. (on street tires)
after that i changed to a walbro 255 pump and got some drag radials and ran 12.5 at 115.

i plan to dyno in a few weeks.

one of my buddy's trapped 99 at this track on that night, he went to richmond at raced a week later and trap 105...,
thanks amazing that he gained that much mph by going to a different track (lower elevation)
