jumping the a/c compressor to get it to recharge

i just spent like 3 hours trying to figure out what I was doing wrong until I found this: https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=698276

It should be a sticky in hot summer times like this, the older these cars get, more people will have problems getting the A/C to suck up refrigerant. first check to see if your compressor works by jumping the two wires to the battery, black neg, green pos. if it clicks then its working. Turn on the car and connect the a/c recharge as if you were charging normally. To get it to suck up refrigerant, you need to jump the compressor again to turn it on. Camaro a/c systems have a low pressure shut off and it requires pressure in the system before the car will allow the compressor to start (but we are jumping it because we know it will re-pressurize very soon ). Once its jumped once it should stay on and suck up a 12oz can or two.

I jump the relay on drivers side forward inside the fuse box. It's a lot easier than jumping at the compressor. Depending on the state of charge, it may take more than 1-2 cans. I found mine likes ~25 psi (low side) to run without jumping but then again, it has been plagued with AC problems since I bought it. Much like my Ex, it puts out only when it wants to
