Sometimes when I start my car and turn the A/C on, it blows air but the compressor doesn't kick on. Then if I turn my car off then on again, it kicks in. And the A/C in my car blows colder than the other 4 cars at my house too. I've had my car for 3 years now, and it's been doing this for about a year now, i've just been too lazy to fix it. I'm guessing its just a bad sensor in the system or something.

 

Could be the clutch cycling switch....

 

Well its fine if it works the first time when i try and use it if the cars running. I can turn it on/off without any problems, it's just when it doesn't work the first time, it wont work unless i turn off and start my car again. The clutch engages,disengages fine when its running.

 

mine sort of did the same thing last summer. except it would not always work after restart. i beat my self up for a month before i broke down and took it to the dealer. the wires going into the compressor had broken and would sometimes make enough contact for it to work. they wired up another connector and it works now. would not hurt to look at it anyway.

 

i had the same problem. I was low on refrigerant, you might just need a recharge. THe compressor won't turn on unless the pressure sensor senses enough pressure. When your on the border of enough refirgerant, it will be intermittant when your compressor comes on.

Could it be a bad pressure sensor, because its been doing it for a year now, and if I had a leak it would be out of coolant by now, and the A/C blows cold as hell...

 

could be a bad switch. YOu can always jumper the switch out to test it.
