You know how the doors rattle when you close them?

I noticed that my dads car has these soft sponge type things inbetween the safety bar and the door to keep the door from vibrating against the safety bar. In my car I didn't see any sponge like things between the door and safety bar, I am thinking about putting some caulking in there and hopefully that will stop the rattling noise when closing the door.

Why? Because a thread like this is even necessary? Blame GM.

Have you driven a Ford lately? They're even worse.

Have you guys had problems with your speaker/armrest panels in the back the car? Mine sqeak almost all the time. No one ever sits in the back so they should still fit tight right? My door speakers also vibrate really bad. Is there away to tighten them up with out taking off the door panel? My speaker cover won't come off. One more question. My car sits for a week at a time and when i first get in it and start going down the road it is very bumpy. Anybody else have this problem? I'm running BFG G-Force T/As, 245 50 ZR16s, and they have about 3500 miles on them. After its driven for about ten minutes it clears right up.

They are American cars....Shake, rattle and roll baby! Just get a louder exhaust or stereo and all those rattles go away really fast

My 99 V6 Camaro use to rattle like that all the time. When I bought my SS I had BMR subframe connectors installed with only 300 miles on the OD. 20,000 miles later and I have NO rattles what so ever.

How about the turn signal stalk??? Mine rattles over every bump... the one in my dads suburban (3 years older and 3x the miles) is silent and smooth in operation. Was wondering of they were swappable... after all they are both the same multifunctions...

Have that one too. Only way to fix it is quiet your exhaust. Old people tell me my exhaust is "broke, i should go get it fixed"

I put a tiny bit of felt under the ashtray lid, you can't see it when its closed, but that stopped any buzzing I had.

Well, on colder days ( 50 or lower) it doesn't make that annoying ding ding ding. It sounds more like a doorrng dooorng doorng. I just laugh.. Mainly because I know there isn't crap that I can do, besides disconnect it.
It wouldn't be annoying if you had your seatbelt on, right?
