My girlfriend's car (98 camaro v6) has a problem with the interior lights. When you open the doors the interior lights will not come on. Even when you turn the dome light wheel all the way up till it clicks (by the headlight ****) nothing happens. The guages will get brighter/dimmer so i know it works. You can manually turn the mirror light on on the mirror itself so i know the bulbs are good. Also , when you arm the car's alarm it only chirps once so i think the problems are related.

Check your interior fuse panel.
