Installing an SLP CAI

or any CAI, for that matter. Is it easy? Can I do it myself? Is there anything special I'm gonna need for the job that an ordinary household wouldn't have? I'm thinking about going ahead and ordering one now but I really would like to do it myself....I'm not experienced working on cars in depth, and I've never done any mods to my car, so......I just want to know if there's anything special I'm gonna have to do or anything special I'm gonna need for the job.

Thanks.

You can do it yourself - not hard at all. You can check out SLP's instructions on their site, other manufactures should provide detailed instructions also. Even if you run into something you need it's still cheaper than paying someone to install it.

Re: Installing an SLP CAI

When I first installed my SLP CAI, I had my cousin there to help me install it. It was pretty straight forward. The hardest parts were removing the stock "intake" and then putting the filters on from under. It also helps to have someone pull the radiator forward a little.

Since then, when I've had to clean the filters or TB, I've been able to uninstall-reinstall the thing by myself with no problem.

Re: Installing an SLP CAI

On mine, the SLP CAI conflicted with hitting the Raditor shroud and brake lines. Unbolt the driver side radiator shroud a lil bit and so you can wiggle & squeeze the CAI in place and "walla' a very snug fit.
