I've got a '99 Camaro SS and $1,000. They only mod I've done is installed a SLP "Ultra-Z" hood to increase the air intake. I've got $1,000 and I want to get as much increase in performance as I can with the money. I don't really care about making the car look better; I just want it to go faster. What should I do with the money?

 

are you doing the labor end of things or are you planning on paying someone?

super sucker ram air (ssra) $217 shipped. easy to install.

custom cam $400. i paid someone to put it in.

also, you an a4 or m6? torque converters go for $400-750 for a decent one.

gears if you need them, $275+ sometimes can find them cheaper.

ls6 intake $300+ used, $450+ new. block-off plates for egr $15.

any combination would be a good start.

 

im not sure ut i thought buying a cam... having it installed.... and having it tuned properly cost a lot more than 1k

I would just do some intake stuff.... lid, bellow, ssra,
exhaust.... headers, ory, catback

 

well if he has the ultra-z hood...the K&N intake or Volant would be better for the ram air than the SSRA

but the next step is the exhaust. so a catback and headers which should total about $1000.
