OK, driving the GN is a good trade-off...

Are you serious? Maybe at a Chevy dealer?

Those pedal covers are supposed to last 400,000 miles!

Premature pedal cover wear.. there might be a TSB on that.

you think being short is hard, try being 6'5" and fitting into a Lt1 Trans am. now that's a tight fit, and i mean tight, and i'm pretty big up top as well, i'm actually in the process of making a fixed bracket for my seat to actually go back another 2.5". believe me, it's a big difference., i could swear my 92 z28 was a lot roomier.

One other thing you can try, is to removed the air bag and steering wheel and put a new non air bag wheel in its place. you can find one that looks a lot better as well. I know people who deactivate the passenger air bag because they have kids who need to be in the front seat (VW and had 3 kids) since it couldn't be turned off with they key like some of the newer cars... if you need the seat way up but are afraid of the air bage really hurting you, why not get rid of it?

I am 5'7" as well and I didn't have any problems with the seat forward. I still had some space left for the bag if it deployed.
the only issue I had was getting in the car if I didn't tilt the steering wheel up.
This was on my 96 Trans Am and Camaro.
My tilt doesn't work to well on my formula, but the Grant F1 Wheel makes it easier since it is smaller than the stock wheel.

Well, I'm 5'5 and I have to put the seat all the way up.. I am close to the steering wheel, but not rediculously close, since my arms are slightly bent when holding the top too (but then again, i have short arms too heh)... I can depress the clutch pedal all the way down with my foot flat and knee very sligtly bent.. Basically just about spot on to the idea command driving position. You should never have to reach for anything, or be at full extension. I would be a little comfortable if all my pedals were moved up about half and inch to an inch though. Driving without shoes on is kinda hard. heh.

Thing is about pedal extenders that move the pedal closer, is I haven't exactly found any that I would trust on a roadcourse.. What I'll probably end up doing when my Z turns into a weekend track toy, is have a reputable raceshop do measurements and stuff when I get seat and rollcage installed in, and have them bend/weld/extend the pedal arms to a better position for myself.

ALso, for some reason, my clutch starter switch doesn't work on my car anymore.. as in I can start the car without the clutch pedal depressed... Not complaining though.

Damn, I'm 5' 11" and the seat is all the way back in my car. I feel sorry for you lanky suckers. Good thing is that when I'm around you guys over 6' tall I don't have to worry about getting struck by lightning first.

Well, I'm Five Four, from the top of my head to my feet on the floor... (but, I'm taller than most folks lying down.)
I pull the seat all the way up on long hauls, but around town, I back off a bit. I've got (MBA) aluminum pedal covers that are about a half inch thick that help a little... BUT, and it's a big but, I've concidered replacing the steering wheel since I bought the car in '98.
The air bag needs 10" between you and it, less than that and you're likely to be injured. All the way up I'm six inches from it, and 'laid back' I'm about eight... But I digress...
The point of this post is the pedal covers...
