ignition control module testing

ignition control module testing
my 97 z28 keeps stalling. this happens when driving or with car stopped. car starts right back up. if I use car then let it sit for 20 mins. or more it will not fire. so, something is soaking up heat and is not liking it. I am thinking it is the icm, how do I test this part?

Re: ignition control module testing
Have you scanned it for codes?
Take the ICM to an auto parts store, have it tested. Make sure they understand it has to be heated up to test issues with heat soak.

Re: ignition control module testing
An open circuit or a short in the ICM should set codes. But have it tested.
