Hurst Shifters?
Hurst Shifters?
This may be a stupid question, but i was wondering, is the Hurst shifter that was put in the 98+ SS's the same as Hurst's shifter for the T-56 now, or is the new one an improved shifter? Looked at a 99 SS and was just wondering.
Re: Hurst Shifters?
The "Hurst" shifter that SLP put in the SS's was a semi "clone" of the Hurst Competition Plus shifter. It was very similar, but had a thinner cover plate, and use the stock shifter lever with the big rubber bushing that causes part of the limp feel to the stock shifters. A real Hurst Comp+ had a heavier cover plate, and used a stick with no bushing, bolted directly to the shifter. Hurst offered a choice of a black, round stick or a chrome flat stick.
The current Hurst shifter is the Hurst Billet Plus. It is upgraded from the Competition Plus, and includes adjustable shift "stop" bolts, which neither the SLP Hurst or Comp+ includes . Not sure if they even make the Comp+ for the T56 any more.
