how to remove a 97 3.8?

It looks like it will come through the hood ... BUT .... is this a easier way then out the bottom?

How did you all lift your bodies up over everything once the cradle was dropped?

I have heard the bellhousing must be removed with transmission ( T5 ) connect due to the throwout bearing and one bolt on the bellhousing is extremely hard to get to.

How hard to bleed the ABS once the brake lines are back on the ABS pump?

any other pointers?

I have motor almost ready to be dropped so need opinions here.

with trans connected is there enough room to come out the hood?

Out the bottom is the easiest, IMHO. I raised the car, then lowered the k-member down with a floor jack. The trans can stay connected. You don't have to mess with the ABS if you are careful not to touch the brakes during the procedure. Just remove the two brake pipes that go to the front wheels and fish the lines out as you separate the engine. You can probably find some engine removal threads in the LT1 section.

Where did you attach the hoist to raise the body?

I didn't have a hoist. I jacked it up under the k-member. Most people will put the back wheels on top of some other wheels and raise and support the front under the jack pads by various methods.

thanks!!!!! I dropped it out the bottom and that is the simple way to do it, even with a V-6.
