GM made 2 "real" Pace Cars, and 6,360 replicas of the Pace Car. Sticker price was $900 higher than the Z28 without the Z50 package. All the replicas had one of the 305 ci engines. If you had one of the two actual Pace Cars, it would have the 350ci engine.

No idea what they are worth now.

Would it be worth $5000? Body has no damage or rust, interior needs a little help (going to try and get some pictures of it), and it has a little valve noise and some carb trouble.

$5,000 seems high, considering it was one of over 6,000 "special edition" cars. The cars that are worth a ton now, are those that are in high demand, and low volume. 6,360 units isn't a low volume run.

When I traded in mine back in 97 for my SS they gave me $3k. I thought that was low and it wasn't perfect. Since you are saying "carb trouble" that tells me you have the 140hp version from the factory. Mine was the fuel injected version and I think was the only one on the planet that actually ran good.
Also, you said the interior needs help. I redid my seats on mine and was told the silver vinyl was no longer made. Just giving you a heads up.

Sounds really high. You could probably buy a real nice one for that, they're common enough you could find another. Somebody probably sells the decals. But the seat material might be another story. Might be worth investigating if you're serious about restoring.

I think Id rather have a 93 over an 82, plus 140 HP is pretty sad, Find a better condition 82 or get a 93

Imagine dynoing at about 110hp with a V8!
The fuel injected V8 being 165hp was better and having the functional hood was nice to have.

Obviously if we got that car, we'd be doing some engine work anyway so we'd get it to more than 140hp. But I'm not going to buy it anyway. I don't want to buy a 4th gen either.

I don't know about these cars but hp could be irrelevant if it's truely a rare car, which it doesn't sound to be anyway. You can't say it's junk b/c it put out 140hp though. You should find someone that knows their stuff.
