how to RAISE combustion chamber temps

Here is the problem: 99 3.8...Won't pass smog, just barely..But cali has ridiculous standards. It passes everything but HC's at 25 mph, and passed right at standard at 15 mph dyno....I have done everything...Plugs, wires, oil, pcv, fuel filter, air filter, cleaned egr valve, cleaned the intake, did seafoam twice, ran G2P pass (did not pass) through it, you name it...It is so close it kills me...it hit 52 ppm on the 15mph test and 52 ppm is the max. At 25 mph it hit 47 ppm and 36 is the max. But here is the killer NOx is at 0! So that tells me that the combustion chamber temps must be too low and it is running rich. I did find it has a jet chip and a 180 thermostat in it, so I took the chip out and put a 195 thermo in it, and I think that might help it out. I am down to trying some of the more exotic tricks to try to help it pass like overinflating the tires and 20/50 oil to try to reduce HC's....Would running a HOTTER plug help this out in order to raise combustion chamber temps?

Thanks.

you can set the fan temperature with the computer; or maybe you could partially obstruct the radiator / fan area with cardboard to have the engine temp higher

Iv heard of people running the hell out of their car before smog. But maybe somehow limit the cooling I guess. Im no expert on this we dont have emissions.

The Jet Chip was probably the problem. All these do is increase the fuel mix. So removing it should do the trick. And as stated make sure you have the engine fully warmed up when you take it in.

Yeah, most likely...Jet was the problem. As mentioned above make sure the vehicle is at operating temp before having it tested.

You could try the "Guaranteed to Pass" stuff. I don't have any experience with it though.
