militech, worth it?
militech, worth it?
Lately iv'e been hearing alot about this lubricant and how wonderful it is. Buddy of mine has a C5 ZO6 and he mixed it with mobil 1 as well as his trans and diff. His engines just absolutely purrs with ease. It is not advertised too publicly because it is military owned so they have the money already but it is supposed to be pretty badass stuff. Anybody know about this stuff? Input? I'm approaching 110,000 miles and am thinking of throwing this stuff in.....

I have used it in several of my last vehicles- at least two of them, an LT1 powered Caprice and a Bronco II went over 200,000 miles, and were running great when I got rid of them- both due to the northeast rust-
I have no fancy test equipment, and I am pretty good about maintenance, but it think it might help- worth a shot if you are going to be keeping your vehicle a long time, like I do-
And, I don't think they are owned by the military, though they do a lot of business with them. It is supposed to be a metal treatment, not a lubricant, that makes metal surfaces both tougher and slipperier- good for firearms- Like I wrote, I have had good luck with it-

They used to have a funny car. plexiglass oil pan, no oil inside.
Was reccomended to me by a trusted machinest. Its a resin that forms a barrier between metal parts. You have to hone/grind this stuff off to remove it.
My only experiance with it is in my vw(@70k)..... Before hand there would always be a slight amount of sludge in the cylinder head when looking down the oil fill hole. I got the car hot and slowely poored the microlon through the dipstick hole as instructed. Then drove three hours straight from nyc to binghamton so that it would adhere to the metal surfaces and not fall out of suspension.
I am at 110k miles on the vw right now and there is ZERO sludge buildup. Nothing maintinance wise has changed.
Is it worth it? i wont know till it gets ripped apart.

thanks for the input but i still feel like i don't have enough insight on this stuff, seems to be real up there with good quality lubricants but i just don't want to waste money, any more input on the militech?
