How much would drag radials help these times?

So i went to the track the other nigth with a buddy of mines car and took a few runs... 2002 trans am ws6 automatic with shift kit slp long tubes/exhaust no cats... i was expecting to run 12's but we ended up with a 13.3 @ 106... Traction really didnt seem to be that big of a problem the car was hookin up well and launchin quick but he raced an 02 trans am convertible that only had drag radials and that guy smoked him in the quarter... Was wonderin why it was so much slower with less mods in a lighter car... would drag radials really drop his times that much?

You leave out the most important detail, what were the 60' times?
